This trip is designed to visit the northern region of Kruger Park with Punda Maria and Mopanie camps as a base. Please keep in mind that Kruger Park is within a malaria area, and appropriate prevention is advised. Guests should consult a doctor
Day 1: June 2
Johannesburg to Punda Maria
As it is a long day ahead of us, we depart early morning from Johannesburg to avoid any peak hour traffic. We will enjoy a brunch on the way to Kruger Park. We will travel towards Punda Maria gate on the N1 towards Polokwane. Upon entering the park we start with the first day of game viewing towards Punda Maria Rest Camp, where we will check in for the first 3 night’s stay. Relax in the camp until it is time for dinner. Dinners for the whole trip will either be prepared by your host, or taken at the restaurant. Hopefully we get to see the Pel’s Fishing Owl.
Day 2 & 3: June 3 and 4
We will do various drives from the camp, enjoying breakfasts and lunches at either picnic spots, or at some of the surrounding camp’s restaurants. Enjoy coffee and rusks before departing on the game viewing for the day. The area around Punda Maria is rich with variety of game and majestic trees, so the days are set out to explore the area. We will do various drives from the camp, enjoying breakfasts and lunches at either picnic spots, or some of the surrounding camp’s restaurants. It will be two full days of game viewing in the areas, with time also set out for relaxing. Guests can also use the game hide by the camping area as this is the water hole is visited quite a lot by various animals.
Day 4: June 5
Punda Maria to Mopanie
Early morning wake up with coffee and rusks. We check out of the chalets for the day’s travel to the next rest camp searching for the elusive big 5. We will stop at Babalala picnic spot to enjoy a lovely brunch. Visit Shingwedzi camp for coffee and tea. On arrival at Mopanie camp, we will check into the chalets for the next three nights stay in the park.
Day 5 & 6: June 6 and 7
The area around Mopani is rich with variety of game. It will be a full day of game viewing in the area, with time also set out for relaxing and explore Mopani camp. Should any guest be interested in a game drive (morning or evening) on an open vehicle, it can be done (own account).
Day 7: June 8
Mopani to Johannesburg
We depart after breakfast for the Phalaborwa gate for our return to Johannesburg. Arrival in Johannesburg will be late afternoon
Cost of the 7-day tour is R15 400 per person sharing. Single supplement is R3 000
