Trip 8 – Kruger Park – Letaba & Talamati
This trip is designed to visit the most popular region of Kruger Park, which is the central and southern part of the Park.
Day 1: Monday 9 November
We depart early morning from Johannesburg to avoid any peak hour traffic. We travel via Dullstroom & Lydenburg with lunch on route. We will enter the Phalaborwa Gate starting with the first day of game viewing towards Letaba Camp, where we will check in for the first three night’s stay. Dinners for the whole trip will either be prepared by your host, or taken at the restaurant.
Day 2: Tuesday 10 November
The area around Letaba is mostly Mopani bush and a good place to try and find some Big Tuskers. The area has a great variety of game, so the day is set out to explore the area. Full day game viewing around the area, returning to camp for dinner.
Day 3: Wednesday 11 November
Early morning wake up with coffee and rusks. Today we set out to explore more of the area to find some of the animals we haven’t spotted yet. Returning to camp for lunch and some time to explore and also visit the Elephant Museum. Sit in our own bird hide and watch the animals coming down to the river to drink.
Day 4: Thursday 12 November
We check out of the chalets for the day’s travel to the next rest camp just below Satara camp called Talamati Bushveld camp. On route we stop at the Satara camp to enjoy a lovely brunch at the restaurant. On arrival at Talamati, we will check into the chalets for the last two nights stay in the park.
Day 5: Friday 13 November
Once again enjoy coffee and rusks before departing on the game viewing for the day. We will do various drives from the camp, enjoying breakfast and lunch at a picnic spot, sitting in the bird hide in Talamati camp and then enjoy dinner prepared by your hosts.
Day 6: Saturday 14 November
Today it’s time to leave this beautiful place. We drive towards the Orpen Gate, where we exit the park. Arrive home during the late afternoon.
