Day 1: Bay Lodge on the Beach, Mossel Bay (Mon, 31 August)
Mossel Bay
Set along the idyllic Garden Route on South Africa’s spectacularly scenic coastline, the port town of Mossel Bay has grown impressively from its days as a little fishing village.
Early departure from Johannesburg Airport to George. On arrival your Guide will meet you in the arrivals hall and we start our trip with a visit to the Diaz Museum. Lunch at the seaside or in the harbour. Check into our Guesthouse and enjoy a walk on the beach before dinner
Day 2: Bay Lodge on the Beach, Mossel Bay (Tue, 1 September)
Enjoy breakfast and enjoy a trip on the Power Van in George - roundtrip 2 1/2 hours with a picnic in the mountains. Trip is from George into the Mountain and back. Experience the forest and four passes, waterfalls and tunnels, fynbos and proteas, bird and animal life and the panoramic picnic area – all from the comfort of rail buses. A picnic stop in the mountains – with a spectacular view before we return to George.
Return to our Guesthouse to relax and enjoy whale watching from the shore or just a walk on the beach. Dinner at a local restaurant.
Day 3: De Denne Country Guest House, Oudtshoorn (Wed, 2 September)
Oudtshoorn
Located along the well-known Route 62 in South Africa’s beautiful Klein Karoo, the charming town of Oudtshoorn is known as the ostrich capital of the world. It is surrounded by numerous ostrich farms and the golden arid landscape of the Karoo.
Breakfast and we then travel along the scenic route to Oudtshoorn where we will visit Highgate ostrich farm

- Visit the breeding room
- Visit the 3 different ostrich species
- Visit the High gate factory where we manufacture products such as dusters, boas etc.
We will also visit the Cango Wildlife Ranch, they have 90+ species of animals. We provide guided tours which are fundamental in our education ethos, providing a voice for each species and creating animal and environmental awareness.
Lunch in Oudsthoorn before we go to our Guesthouse where we will enjoy dinner.
Overnight: De Denne Country Guest House

Day 4: De Denne Country Guest House, Oudtshoorn (Thu, 3 September)
Breakfast and we off the visit the Cango Caves with its chambers with magnificent limestone formations
It is an easy walk through the first six largest and most spectacular halls and continuing through to the "African Drum room".
This tour commences with information on the real discoverers and inhabitants of the cave and then winds its way through the rest of the Caves’ cultural and historical heritage.
A comfortable walk through the most majestic of the cave chambers. Experienced and knowledgeable guides will accompany you on this journey of discovery and knowledge. Around 60 minutes is required to complete the tour.
Lunch and we return to De Denne to relax and enjoy the farm. Dinner at the farm
Day 5: Belvidere Manor Hotel, Knysna (Fri, 4 September)
Knysna
Sandwiched between the towering Outeniqua Mountains and the Indian Ocean, Knysna is a large town often referred to as the ‘Garden of Eden’, surrounded by stunning bays perfect for sailing, boating, and swimming; picturesque beaches and lagoons; and world-renowned forests.
- Breathtaking Outeniqua Mountains – lush green carpet of indigenous Fynbos (Fine Leaf Bush), the smallest of the six plant kingdoms in the world
- Arrive in beautiful Knysna, Jewel of the Garden Route, situated on the Knysna estuary, surrounded by lush ever-green forests.
- The Knysna Heads is one of the most striking geological features along the entire southern African coastline.
- Featherbed Eco-excursion in Knysna : A boat trip on the Knysna Lagoon to the Featherbed Nature Reserve followed by a buffet lunch ; then a drive in a Unimog up to the top of the Western Head and an easy hike down the head with spectacular views over the Knysna Lagoon and the Indian Ocean

Day 6: Addo Elephant Main Camp, (Sat, 5 September)
Addo Elephant National Park
Set in the enchanting Eastern Cape Province of South Africa, the Addo Elephant National Park is the country’s third largest national park and offers a truly unforgettable safari experience. This finely-tuned ecosystem provides a sanctuary to large numbers of elephant, lion, buffalo, black rhino, spotted hyena, leopard, antelope, zebra and over 400 bird species.
After a great breakfast we depart along the coast to Addo Elephant Park. Stop at the Big Tree on route and at Mananga farmstall for lunch. On arrival at Addo we check in, unpack and enjoy our first game drive in the Park

Overnight: Addo Elephant Main Camp
Addo Elephant Main Camp is located within the Addo Elephant National Park in South Africa. The campsite boasts a selection of accommodations, including guest houses, chalets, cottages, safari tents, and camping sites. The campsite features a waterhole lookout point, an underground hide, a swimming pool, shaded picnic areas, and a shop. Guests can also indulge in delicious meals from the on-site restaurant.
Day 7: Addo Elephant Main Camp, (Sun, 6 September)
A day to relax and enjoy a breakfast before we enjoy a safari in the Addo, stopping for a lovely picnic lunch and then returning to camp where we will visit the Hide and the information centre.
Dinner at the restaurant or your Guide will make a braai for you.
Day 8: End of Itinerary (Mon, 7 September)
We depart from Addo to the Port Elizabeth Airport for your flight back to Johannesburg.
